Technology has made it easy for anyone to purchase a domain name and create a website. Even though it is easy to create the website, it is not easy to design a website that is easy to use and navigate if you have never taken classes on web design before. Have no fear; there are some tips and tricks essential as you learn your way around web design.
First, make sure the material or content you put on your site has something to do with your websites’ purpose. Every single page should have a purpose. Your audience should never be confused when they view a page.
Second, make your website easy to navigate and get around in. Have you ever been on a website where you could not find a way back to the homepage? You might spend some time trying to find a link that will get you back to their homepage, but many times you just closed the browser tap. Do not lose your audience because you do not make it easy to move around on the page. Instead, make sure each page has a menu. You want every one of your pages to be seen, make it easy for your audience. They are not going to stick around if they cannot figure out how to get from point A to C and back to point A.
When you are picking the background image or color, make sure your audience can still read the website content. You want it to be easy to read. You should make it flow right to left, every line should be no longer than 600 pixels, and make sure the font and color is easy to read.
Avoid pop-up ads. Do you enjoy pop-up ads on the websites that you frequent? Most likely not. It is hard for people to focus when they are viewing your content and the flashing graphics or pop-up ads keep distracting them.
